Men who Mount,
Another wonderful week at the club as the season draws to a close with only 1 more Saturday game and then finals.
The mid-week season has now finished with our 2nd Division team making it into the finals. Congratulations and best of bowls in snaring that elusive promotion to First Division.
The fighting 3rd Division team came from almost certain relegation to winning their last 3 games to hold their place. Well played and seeing the way that team performed in those last games Im sure if there was another few games they would have won them too…
Hard yards to our 4th Division. We found the going tough all year and unfortunately will see this team relegated. Chin up Mounters – we will be back into the fray next year!
Special Thank You;
Many players missed out on a Thursday game at certain times during the season. We went from having 1 or 2 players extra at the beginning of the year to having up to 11 players missing a game at one stage. We will certainly take that into account when nominating our teams for next season.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as the selectors made the difficulty decisions on rotations.
A terrific set of results;
- 1st Division continued to flex their muscles with a comprehensive 7 pts.
- 2nd Division struggled against the power of a Nth Perth side on their way to 1st Div.
- 4th Division win again knocking off the league leaders by just enough – 1 shot!
- 6th Division win again! We are currently top of the table but only 2.5 pts separate the top 4 teams. We need a win next week to ensure we finish top 2 and play-off in the Grand Final for the pennant.
The cans for the week;
Thursday – Enda, Billy K, Hilton, Peter Cal
D1: Anthony, Adam, Kyle, Caramelo
D2: Joe G, Darryl G, Woolfy, Roman
D4: Rosy, Hilton, Pete Willy, Sticks
D6: Mr Johnston, John Mc, Peter Cass, Normy J
Congratulations to our new favourite son Jeff Bessant (Jiff) in claiming the coveted club singles title on the weekend!
Jeff played some brilliant bowls and got over the top of the giant killer Tarquin who had a great tournament and was a worthy finalist.
The Calcutta was a great inclusion to build up some excitement and make some money for the club and especially to the winners. Congrats Corey on the big return and the brotherly love & Ian Watt for a healthy purse too.
33 players……. 1 man left standing!
See you at the club,
